UK-based - Working worldwide

Chris McClean is an award-winning director, filmmaker and photographer with a unique eye for a story.

Chris’s work begs the viewer to think deeply about the environment. Preferring to meet his subject matter, often at the point where human existence intersects with nature.

Looking for calm, quiet and honest moments that reflect how he sees the world of light, shadow and form. Working from a place of respect and appreciation for others and the planet.

Specialising in adventure-led, lifestyle and travel photography.

Living and breathing what he shoots. Chris's work sings a lived experience. Sleeping outside, hiking into remote valleys, swimming in wild waves and cycling for days on-end. All with cameras and recording equipment in backpacks. Small crews, strong stories and beautiful sound whilst empowering people through photography and film. But above all, good adventures with good people.

‘My guest this week is visionary film-maker and photographer Chris McClean, recorded at the London Surf Film Festival in October 2019, where Chris won the Viewer’s Choice Award for his latest feature Translate. The film also had its premiere at the event, a performance that saw the soundtrack performed live by a band featuring composer CJ Mirra and Lee-Ann Curren.’
